Dear Donors,

This report covers the activities from November 1st to December 29th. During this period, your support has been the cornerstone of numerous transformative stories at the Betania Juvenil Foundation. Each program, workshop, and meal served is a testament to your generosity, creating a cascade of positive changes in the lives of those we serve.

Nourishment and Gratitude in the Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club, the heartbeat of our daily operations, provided over 300 nutritious breakfasts each week, with beneficiary attendance ranging from 80% to 90%. The impact of this simple act of nourishment is profound. Andrea, a Venezuelan mother of four, shared how the meals provided at the Breakfast Club have become a lifeline for her family, ensuring her children attend school well-fed and focused.

Empowerment through Family Strengthening

The "Authentic" workshop created a space for reflection and growth among caregivers, emphasizing the importance of authenticity in their parenting. The heartfelt engagement in activities like the "Casa de Flores" art project was a testament to their commitment, with one caregiver reflecting, "The workshop reminds and teaches the children of today. I liked everything. The best teachers. Thank you for everything."

Creativity Unleashed in LectuArte

The LectuArte workshop was a vibrant showcase of imagination, where children like Darleyth brought a sea of ideas to story creation, enriching our community's narrative.

Overcoming Adversity with Charitza

In the midst of joy, we also witnessed resilience. Charitza, a 3-year-old facing the shadows of violence and aggression, found a beacon of hope in the Breakfast Club, transforming her behavior and reigniting her smile, a powerful reminder of the sanctuary your support provides.

Inspirational Tales of English Learning

Our English workshops illuminated the joy of learning, with children eagerly embracing new vocabulary. The collective voice of our young learners resonates in their feedback, "I learned the numbers in English," highlighting the doors you help open with each donation.

The Gift of RecreArte and Adult Support

The RecreArte and adult support workshops painted stories of joy, creativity, and intergenerational bonding. From gratitude cards to sensory activities, these programs underscore the comprehensive impact of your contributions, touching lives across all ages.

Challenges Amidst Progress

Despite our achievements, we faced significant challenges due to torrential rains that severely impacted our community. These rains not only disrupted our activities but also highlighted the precarious living situations of many families, especially those near the Ciénaga de la Virgen, who faced significant flooding in their homes. In these trying times, the support from our donors, including crucial assistance from the Food Bank of the Archdiocese of Cartagena, became a lifeline. The provision of emergency food kits was vital in mitigating the harsh effects of these environmental adversities, ensuring that those most vulnerable received the sustenance they desperately needed.

As we reflect on these 8 weeks, we are reminded of the power of collective action and the indelible mark of kindness. Your contributions have not just met immediate needs but have woven a fabric of support, empowerment, and hope that stretches far beyond our immediate horizon.
