We started the year with a lot of new projects. In the first quarter, we turned our attention and efforts to blueprints for investment in biodiversity conservation — the first ones in Brazil.
The models, built in partnership with Conservation International (CI-Brasil), exemplify how investors can allocate their investments to businesses that generate financial returns, while also generating significant social and environmental impacts.
The launch of the blueprints took place during the Brazilian Forum for Climate Finance, held last month in São Paulo. The Forum, an initiative designed at COP28, preceded the G20 Finance Ministers' meeting and encompassed government bodies, civil society, and financial market representatives to boost the transition to a low-carbon global economy.
Solidarity Revolving Fund
In addition, we structured a new Solidarity Revolving Fund (FRS, in Portuguese) that will contemplate the indigenous cause in the state of Mato Grosso. The Fund, structured by Sitawi, aims to strengthen the Amazon nut value chain and support the development of the Zoró, Apiaká, Kayabi, and Munduruku populations. These actions aim at the territorial development of indigenous communities, considering their cultural and traditional specificities, and preserving local biodiversity.
This is another project we work on to promote actions that drive positive social and environmental transformation!
We would not be able to transform so many realities and lives without the support of our donors. You are a part of this transformation! Thanks for the encouragement and continue with us on this journey.
