In Maranhão, Brazil, Krikati and Guajajara women recently took part in a three-day agroecology workshop that combined theory and practice, strengthening their traditional knowledge and expanding their skills.
This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to promote territorial development that values local leadership and protects the forest.
As climate change brings longer dry seasons and increases the risk of wildfires, these women are learning how to better understand and mitigate its impacts. With initiatives like this, indigenous women continue to demonstrate leadership in defending their territories and promoting sustainable practices that integrate tradition, ancestral knowledge, and community innovation.
