Readers with mobile library
Here is a recent report on the mobile library from partner organization ABVBF in Burkina Faso.
As part of an initiative to encourage students to develop a love for reading, the facilitator of the Mobile Library and a facilitator for ABVBF conducted a visit today, March 6, 2026, to the Sainte Thérèse de Jésus School in Houndé. Although it was 12:30 PM, the students—true reading enthusiasts—still found the time to gather at the library to read, expand their knowledge, and receive guidance from the facilitators. A guided free-reading session was conducted with the students, followed by an alphabet game. At the conclusion of the activity, the facilitators took the opportunity to share a message encouraging the students to read. They highlighted the many benefits of reading—explaining how it would enable them to improve their reading skills and further enrich their knowledge. They wrapped up the session by inviting the students to visit the Mobile Library regularly whenever it is on-site.

The mobile library (BMP) continues to help schoolchildren read in Burkina Faso. The motorcycle library regularly visits schools in the Hounde area. The books provided include many locally produced books, that are favorites of many readers. With your continuing support we can reach more schools, and restock the BMP with puzzles and more books.
Here is a recent report from the team: Activities at the Penelope Mobile Library at Houndé School B. As part of the promotion of reading, the facilitator of the BMP. The team conducted an outreach activity at Houndé School B on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The objective of this visit was to bring books closer to the children while encouraging them to read. Several activities took place with the students during the day: guided reading sessions, peer tutoring in reading, alphabet games, and math activities. Approximately forty children were present around the mobile library to participate in the activities. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, the BMP departed, but it will return in a week for more activities, much to the delight of the young readers.

Quarterly Report (March, April, and May) 2025 on the Activities of the Penelope Mobile Library
The Penelope Mobile Library was launched to provide young users with access to books. It reaches out to young readers at convenient times. This report presents the activities carried out in the various schools in the city of Houndé during the first quarter of 2025. During the secon dquarter of 2025, the facilitator's visits to the various schools in the city of Houndé recorded 1,720 users, mainly elementary school students. Some high school students and adults are also included. The number of hours per visit to the activity site varies between 1 hour 45 minutes and two hours. Each activity receives an average of 36 children. The outings to the various schools are good times because they not only facilitate children's access to books and encourage their love of reading, but they also allow them to discover new works and new words. Many users say they are satisfied, but they would like to see an increase in the documentary collection so that they can dream more. It should be noted that CMH books are very appreciated by users because they allow children to discover and understand the world around their environments. These are moments for them to share and develop. The mobilization and commitment of users around this mobile library demonstrates once again that if children have access to books, they will read them.
