'Keka' had a deep laceration due to kite string

By Moumita | Program Director

We received Keka at Jivdaya with an injury
We received Keka at Jivdaya with an injury

We received ‘Keka’ long after the kite flying festival. This poor soul was unfortunately injured by leftover sharp kite threads accumulated on the trees and had a deep laceration in its left wing.

Our doctors immediately took him to our OPD for treatment and realized the injury was old as the kite string was stuck to the wound and dried up completely, so they decided to opt a surgery. It took Keka a long time to heal under intense care and love. Finally, it was time for him to see the world and meet his friends again after being successfully released in the wild. Let's pray for his good health and long life.

As an animal welfare organization, we request all to remove any leftover kite flying threads from the trees, bushes, grounds, and overhead wires as they cause a lot of innocent lives. Many birds die from sharp glass-coated kite string injuries long after the ‘Kite Flying Festival. If we join our hands, we can save many lives like Keka.
