Abandoned cows are a growing problem in Ahmedabad as well as in Gujarat, Due to the rapid urbanization many cattle are being abandoned everyday by their owners and care takers when they stop producing milk or injured or diseased. There are innumerable homeless abandoned cows are on the street living a distressing life every day. Every month we receive many cases of road accidents, maggot wounds, dehydration, spinal injuries, horn cancers, broken bones and many more at our facility who are desperately looking for medical care and treatment. Recently an abandoned calf named ‘Gopi’ was rescued and brought to our hospital by the localities who was severely injured from a deadly road accident. The poor baby had multiple fractures in her left forelimb, it was in extreme pain and needed immediate treatment, after examination doctor splinted the broken leg with antibiotics and pain killer.
Regular treatment, nutritious food and physiotherapy were given to Gopi for a fast recovery. Gopi is now settled and showed improvement but still has a long way to go for complete recovery, till then Gopi will be in our shelter under our team of vets & assistants for medical supervision.
We sincerely thank and value your continuous help and support which gives us the strength to achieve more and more.
