Uttarayan Save Birds Campaign (USBC) is organized every year in Ahmedabad by Jivdaya Charitable Trust during the Kite-flying festival (Uttarayan) as an effort to save the injured birds from certain death and giving them a survival chance. Even though our official USBC campaign date was 14th to 15th January, we started receiving birds injured by Glass Coated Threads (manja) and Chinese threads used in kite fighting (Uttarayan) from mid-December onward.
Like every year to save their lives, our work starts immediate after Diwali (i.e. October 2020). Thousands of hours were invested to get the best result in prevention and treatment of those innocent lives. Our dedicated avian experts and staff were quite busy throughout the month for treatment and give them a survival chance. At this point, we would also like to thanks to all Rescuers, Volunteers, Vets and many more, who showed their helping hands and helped us directly or indirectly in this life saving journey.
