'Pavan' with Chronic Cellulitis finds his forever

By Ratiranjan Mahapatra | Project manager

Cellulite is infection and inflammation of the soft tissues of the body. Mostly this is connective tissue around ligaments and joints. This can be a life-threatening condition in some cases. This disorder can be caused by several different bacteria, and they are extremely painful.

‘Pavan’, a young handsome Horse, was rescued and brought to Jivdaya Charitable Trust in the mid of June 2021 in dire condition. He was in extreme pain and undernourished.  “Pavan” lived in a rural town about an hour away from Ahmedabad city, got abandoned by his owner after suffered from chronic Cellulitis. Luckily for him, a concerned citizen repeatedly addressed his condition and brought him to Jivdaya Charitable Trust for treatment.

Our team of veterinarian examined him shortly after arrival and determined that ‘Pavan’ was suffering from chronic cellulitis for 9 months. We have started a regimented feeding and treatment program for Pavan and kept him under our close observation for a couple of weeks to reduce the infection and swelling set in his hind leg. During this time, he has become a favorite for all in our facility.  Everyone loved grooming and petting him and taking him out for his daily walks around the property.  At this time he has progressed to eating a normal amount of diet and slowly getting back to his normal condition.

When we receive cases like Pavan, it is tempting to focus on the cruelty of some human beings, but it is also a great reminder of all the wonderful people in the world.  Such as the man who was determined to get Pavan into a safe place. Vijay bhai (Name changed) being a huge animal lover immediately said yes to take Pavan to his farm and give him a permanent home. We are optimistic about his future. We know that there will be no more bad days for Pavan.

Dear Friend, saving young Pavan was a big achievement for us, but we could not have done that without your support. We save all these innocent lives through your generous contribution. With the help of your donation, Jivdaya Charitable Trust saves over 4000 animals and birds every month. Thank you once again for having faith in us.
