Every year on 2nd October, ' Nilam Park Jain Sangh' rescues thousands of sheep & goats from the Mandi (a big livestock market) that are primarily destined to end up in the slaughterhouses. These animals, consisting of infants, young and adults, live in a pathetic condition in the market for several days, caged without food & water.
The Nilam Park Jain Sangh members purchase these sheep & goats from the vendors and bring them to the rescue camp where the Jivdaya Charitable Trust team examines and treats each one of them.
Like every year, our team was also ready on the auspicious day of 'GandhiJayanti' (Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday) to save thousands of innocent lives from misery. Over 1200 Sheep & Goat reached the camp after the rescue process from the market in a truck. After unloading them, our team immediately started the treatment procedure to ensure they do not lose their battle of life. Jaggery water, food for the adults, and milk for the infants were ready at the camp. After the examination and treatment, critical cases were sent to the Jivdaya facility for further treatment. The rest were transported to Mandal Panjrapole on the next day to live a better life away from the fear of death.
The entire team worked hard and stayed late at night to complete the treatment of 1200 sheep & goats.
