We often receive dogs wrapped in tar during the winter season. This is a common sight in winter that dogs are sleeping peacefully just beside newly constructed roads in search of a little warmth. The same thing happened with ‘Lucky’ when he fell asleep near a drum of fresh tar. After completing their work labors left the construction site without noticing lucky sleeping near the place where they emptied the leftover tar. In the morning when Lucky woke up, his body was covered with hard tar. When he tried to get rid of the tar his skin started coming off as the tar was completely glued with his skin. One of the labors from the same site saw lucky in immense pain and took him immediately to Jivdaya. Here our team started the process of removing the layer of thick tar by applying baby oil all over his body along with proper medication and nutrition. But the process was lengthy and time taking. It took several days to remove the stubborn tar completely. Finally, the day has come when young Lucky sent back to his home after recovering completely. Friends, this winter let’s put our old rugs, bedsheets, cardboard boxes outside our home where these poor fellows can come and take a shelter during the cold night. Our one small act of kindness can help them stay safe in every season. Thank you for your thoughtful contribution
