January is the first month of a new year, a new start. Time for celebrating with friends and family, good food, new clothes, the cozy corner where we can spend time with our loved ones. But the scenario is different for our stray animals. Be it the beginning of the year or end of the year, our stray friends go hungry every night, sleep under the sky without any shelter, lose lives to a lot of diseases and injuries. Our hospital was extremely busy during the month of January with all the different cases. But, this was the month of the Kite festival when thousands of birds get injured and lose either their lives or their limbs due to the sharp glass-coated thread called ‘Manja’. We conducted a bird saving campaign every year where we have treated all the injured birds that we have received during the festival.
Here is a summary of our ‘Trauma care Center for Stray Animals & Birds’ project for Jan’22.
