‘Blue’ a White-Throated Kingfisher rescued from a jar of toxic engine oil
An Incident can turn into an accident at any time and this latest case at Jivdaya proves that.
This white-throated kingfisher was catching flies outside a motor vehicle garage and unfortunately fell inside a discarded engine oil jar which was kept outside. One of the mechanics noticed a moving object inside the jar and discovered poor ‘Blue’ struggling for its life. That kind man immediately took Blue out of the oil and called a bird rescue organization and ask them to take the bird straight to Jivdaya as the man was aware of our facility. Upon receiving the bird our team immediately started cleaning and removing all the toxic oil from its body followed by a thorough check-up and medication.
This beautiful bird is under treatment at Jivdaya Charitable Trust. It will be released soon once it is out of trauma and ready to fly.
We request all to keep any kind of jars or drums of liquid covered to avoid such incidents. Our one tiny precaution can save many precious lives. Jivdaya conveys a big ‘Thank You’ to the kind man for saving beautiful Blue’s life.
