‘Greta’ the Spotted Owlet shared a crucial message with everyone
‘Greta’ a Spotted Owlet was found lying under a neem tree by a pedestrian named Nikunj. He noticed that the bird is trying hard but not being able to fly. Nikunj took Greta home thinking that the bird will not make it if he leaves it on the road. But he was not aware of the problem that Greta was in. He thought Greta will recover soon if gets rest and food. But to his surprise, Greta’s health started deteriorating and the bird stopped eating completely after some days. Puzzled Nikunj began asking for help from everyone and somehow found out about Jivdaya's work. He immediately rushed to the hospital with Greta but when doctors examined, they found Mites have already ingested the primary feathers and different other parts of her body of Greta. Doctors tried their best, but they couldn’t save Greta, it was too late. Nikunj completely broke down into tears when he realized that Greta’s life could have been saved if he took the bird to the hospital on the first day. Instead, he tried healing Greta at home which was a wrong decision.
It is a humble request to all, whenever you find any injured birds or animals on the road, do not take them home as they come under the wildlife protection act and have a different habitat than humans. Kindly take them to your nearest animal hospital or welfare organization. Your prompt action can save many lives like Greta's.
