'Raga’ an injured crow received treatment for its patagial laceration wound at Jivdaya. Patagial laceration wounds are injuries to the skin and soft tissues of the wing, which can be caused by several factors, including kite string injuries during the Kite Flying Festival, known as ‘Uttarayan’ in Gujarat, India.
Raga was severely injured with a sharp kite string and was tangled to a branch of a tree till the time a group of rescuers noticed and rescued the bird. Our Volunteer Avian Expert sutured Raga’s wound in a surgery as the crow was under a tremendous shock and pain. Suturing is a common treatment for patagial laceration wounds in birds, as it helps to close the wound and promote healing faster.
After the surgery ‘Raga’ is resting and recovering in a quiet and stress-free environment, being provided with appropriate nutrition, and being monitored for signs of healing or infection. Once the Raga is fully recovered, it will be released back into the wild.
