January is dedicated to the Uttarayan Save Bird Camp, where Jivdaya treats injured birds from the hazards of the kite flying festival. The sharp glass-coated kite threads pose serious risks, causing injuries or death to countless birds. Every year around this festive time a huge number of regional and migrated birds lose their lives to this deadly kite thread, which is alarming as the balance of our ecosystem get disturbed. Jivdaya Charitable Trust tries to save not only these innocent beautiful creatures but restoring the balance our environment by treating and releasing them back to the nature. This year, Jivdaya treated 3998 injured birds, highlighting the need of spread awareness in kids and youths. Jivdaya treated more than 150 species of birds in this camp which includes Black Kite, Rose-Ringed Parakeet, Painted Stork, Spoonbill, Budgerigar, Booted Eagle, Pigeon, Crow, Knob-billed Duck (Comb Duck), Greylag Goose, Purple Heron, Barn Owl, Black Ibis, Lapwing and many more. JCT also plays a huge role in spreading awareness and educate people about the lifecycle of all the living beings and their importance in our lives.
