Last month, a local rescuer noticed a stray dog struggling with a large tumour on his right foreleg. The growth had become painful and was making it difficult for him to walk and move around comfortably. Trying to soothe the discomfort, he kept licking the area, which eventually caused a wound to develop on the tumour.
Concerned for him, the rescuer brought the dog to Jivdaya. Our veterinary team examined him carefully and decided that the tumour needed to be removed surgically. He underwent an hour-long surgery, and fortunately, the procedure was successful.
For the next two weeks, he stayed with us while his wound healed and he slowly regained his strength and comfort. Once he had fully recovered, it was time for him to go back home, not to a house, but to the familiar locality where he belonged.
When he returned, he was happily reunited with the furry friends he knew and the kind people who had always looked out for him. After weeks of pain and treatment, he was finally able to move freely again and return to the life he knew.
