By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader
Hello community!
Despite strong community interest and careful preparation, our project has not yet received donations on the GlobalGiving platform. However, we remain committed and ready to launch as soon as funding is secured.
Our initiative will provide hands-on training to 3,000 community members in nursery establishment and management. In addition, we will establish 10 community-managed nurseries focusing on indigenous, fruit, timber, and medicinal tree species. Each nursery is expected to produce up to 30,000 seedlings annually, contributing to environmental restoration, food security, and sustainable livelihoods.
So far, we have made important groundwork progress. We have engaged local communities through sensitization meetings, identified suitable sites for nursery establishment, and mobilized local leaders and volunteers who are eager to participate. We have also prepared training materials to ensure high-quality, practical learning once activities begin.
The main challenge remains the lack of funding, which has delayed implementation. Without financial support, we are unable to start training sessions or establish the nurseries.
We are calling on supporters, partners, and donors to help us bring this project to life. Your support will directly enable community training, nursery establishment, and large-scale seedling production that will benefit both people and the environment.
With your help, we can empower communities, restore ecosystems, and create lasting impact.
Thank you for your support.
