With this project, we aimed to meet the most basic needs of 500 children living in the disaster-affected region, such as baby formula, diapers and blankets, and we achieved our goal with your donations. However, in this period, after two weeks of the earthquake, children need psychological recovery as well as their basic needs such as food and diapers. Therefore, we want to continue by adding a toy set to food, diapers and hygiene items for 1000 babies and children.
Babies and children in the disaster area live in unhealthy conditions in tents or containers . Due to the complete cessation of life, baby formula or diapers cannot be purchased. Families are dependent on aid for the basic needs of their babies and children. In addition, we observe that children are affected psychologically. In this disaster, ten thousands of children's toys were buried under the wreckage. They do not have toys to start the normalization processes in the tents and containers.
In order for children to survive, the first step is to meet their heating and nutritional needs. However, meeting their psychological and emotional needs as well as their physical health is the most basic right of the child. Playing is one of the familiar and safe spaces for children to get back to their routines. The toy is the symbol of the step towards recovery.
This project will support recovery efforts in the disaster-affected area by meeting the needs of families for one-month of diapers, baby food, blankets and toys. For this reason, we created a set by calculating the consumption one-month diapers and one-month baby food adding blankets and toys. These basic needs support their survival and recovery until routine help arrives.
