Dear Donor,
We have prepared this report to thank you for your support to our project and to show that your donations reach the right people at the right time in Turkiye.
The death toll of the 6 February earthquake, one of the most devastating disasters Turkey has ever experienced, has exceeded 50 thousand. Thousands of people left homeless by collapsed buildings are struggling to survive. Many needs vary according to the aid received and the availability of resources in the region. Many of those living in tents are having difficulties in meeting their toilet and shower needs. As many shops are closed in the region, there are also difficulties in accessing food and water in general. Both physically and psychologically, women and children living in conditions far away from their daily lives are still in need.
As Mavi Kalem, we have established a container office in Hatay, one of the provinces most affected by the earthquake, with your support. With a team consisting of women living in Hatay and affected by the earthquake and a vehicle we rented, we visit tent camps and independent tent groups and continue to meet with women and children. We continue to distribute materials in line with the needs we have identified and we are making preparations for our different projects, including psychosocial support activities.
We use your donations to meet the needs of children for food, nappies, drinking water and clothes. Since 26 February, we have provided 1236 packs of formula, 1310 packs of diapers, 100 packs of sick diapers, 720 sets of children's underwear, 3,000 pairs of socks and 24 tonnes of drinking water. We are now providind stationery, toys, hygiene and food supplies. After the Eid Ramadan, our team in Hatay will start the distribution of these materials purchased with your support.
We want to continue working in the region affected by the earthquake. Knowing that you are with us is very necessary for us to continue.
We are grateful for your support so far, please continue to support us.
