Turkey Search & Rescue, Connectivity & Solar Power

SmartAID has been actively engaged in providing assistance and support to the affected regions. 

After successfully deploying our Search & Rescue team on the first day, in partnership with Latet, SmartAID Turkey team has distributed 150 tons of aid to thousands of families in Hatay, Kahrmanmaras, Adana region, and Adiyaman. To further address the needs of the affected communities, the team is currently undertaking the following initiatives:

1. Medical equipment is being provided to a field hospital in Hatay to enhance their capacity to treat patients. Additionally, solar lights with chargers are being installed in bathrooms in tent cities to ensure safety and prevent gender-based violence.

    

2. Establishing 'tech coordination hubs' in the earthquake affected Hatay and Adana regions, working closely with local towns and municipalities. These hubs serve as call centers and facilitate the digitization and optimization of essential supplies distribution such as food, shelter, and psychosocial support. Moreover, they assist in the installation of clean water units, showers, and toilets, aiming to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases.

    

3. In order to restore educational activities, SmartAID Turkey is setting up 'Smart Classes' equipped with computers, smart screens, and educational software. These classes will enable students to resume their studies and make use of technological tools for their learning needs.
