A powerful earthquake - magnitude 7.2 - has struck outside Van, Turkey. The earthquake and its destructive aftershocks are affecting children and families in Turkey. In response, Save the Children is planning a massive airlift of disaster relief supplies. We need your generous gift to support our humanitarian efforts and fund the emergency airlift. Your support will help us protect vulnerable children and provide desperately needed relief to families.
When the earthquake struck, it leveled more than 2,000 homes and buildings in an already impoverished region of Turkey. Thousands of people, many of them babies and young children, have been left homeless.
Save the Children's project will deliver thousands of winterized family tents, transitional shelter units, blankets, sleeping bags and other essential items.
Relief supplies will help keep chidlren safe and warm through the difficult fall and winter months and communities rebuild following the devastating earthquake.
