Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation in Türkiye and Syria

Dear Esteemed Donors,

The devastating earthquake that struck Türkiye and Syria in February 2023 caused unprecedented destruction, leaving millions of people displaced, injured, and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Entire communities were reduced to rubble, and countless families lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones in a matter of moments. In the immediate aftermath of this tragedy, the Customs Health Care Society responded swiftly to address the most critical needs of affected populations.

CHCS teams provided emergency relief in the hardest hit areas, with a particular focus on Adyaman province. Essential support included the distribution of food supplies, life saving medicines, warm clothing, and hygiene kits to displaced families. During the holy month of Ramadan, hundreds of affected households were provided with daily meals, offering both nourishment and comfort during a time of profound loss and hardship.

Beyond emergency response, CHCS has remained committed to long term recovery and rehabilitation. By early 2026, a significant portion of rehabilitation activities has been completed, including the reconstruction of homes, restoration of healthcare services, and improvement of access to clean and safe water. These efforts have helped many families begin rebuilding their lives and regain a sense of normalcy.

Despite this progress, the need remains great. Numerous families are still living in temporary shelters and awaiting permanent housing and sustainable support systems. With your continued generosity, CHCS aims to complete the remaining rehabilitation work, restore stability to affected communities, and ensure that families can move forward with dignity and security.

Your support plays a vital role in transforming devastation into recovery and hope.

With warm regards,
Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
