On Monday, February 6th,two earthquakes hit southeast Turkiye and northwest Syria.The 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit the region is one of the strongest to hit the area in more than 100 years.More than 100 aftershocks occurred before another 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit the region.Thousands have been reported dead, injured, or stranded; the numbers increase by the hour. IOM has released critical emergency supplies to help those affected by the #earthquake in Turkey-Syria and is working to assess the needs on the ground and secure additional resources.Our teams are coordinating with Governments and partners to respond to the needs of those affected. IOM will deliver urgent relief items, including shelter, winter clothing, mobile heaters, and blankets to the eathquake survivors.
