The countdown has begun to the launch of Chemi Chemi ya Tumaini (Fountains of Hope) school in Kibera next week. There's lots of final jobs to get done in time before the gates open on monday and we greet our first students.
Initially the school will serve 70 children in Standards 1 to 4, then each subsequent year we will add another Standard to ofer the full 8 Standards of primary school. Class sizes will limited to an optimum of 25 kids to one teacher, this should give the children a much better experience than in the schools they are coming from where up to 50 kids were packed in a classroom with one teacher.
Our dream is to offer quality education and holistic care to each child so that each one can develop to their full potential both academically and as a whole person.
This is a very exciting time and we really appreciate your support and contributions to the launch of the school.
