Our Global Mamas Community is Thriving!

By Tekia Thompson | Community Outreach Manager

Thanks to you and your incredible generosity through the 20 for 20 Campaign, we have seen great achievements within our Global Mamas community personally and as an organization. Here are just a few highlights:

  • The Mamas (and Papas) at each location were able to take some much-needed time to reflect and celebrate the many accomplishments of 2023 during their end-of-year celebrations!
  • As it is International Women’s Month, we believe investing in women has remarkable ripple effects, benefiting the Mamas, their loved ones, and the larger community. We’re thrilled to highlight the personal accomplishments of Jennifer, a tremendously talented seamstress and cherished member of our Global Mamas family since 2009. Her journey has enabled her to support her daughter's education, also named Jennifer, who's now a thriving professional nurse.
  • We've made significant strides by implementing solar energy at the Fair Trade Zone (FTZ), courtesy of a grant for Small-Scale Projects from the German Embassy in Accra, geared toward the Solar Mamas project. The results have been extraordinary, with solar power now covering about 70% of our energy demands, a figure we're confident will rise with some fine-tuning.
  • The leadership team members were able to gather together and set their new goals for the year. Each team engaged in this process which will guide our organization’s activities in the coming months.

Thank you for continuing to support our mission of creating a space where women thrive. We know that as women become powerful role models, their children and their communities will flourish.
