The UCESCO Sports is an affiliated of UCESCO - United Cultural Environment and Social Community Organization based in Nairobi, Kenya, who is single purpose are found and develop sports talent in regions where the young people don't have clubs to practice that sports.For that, and after we identify that talent, UCESCO Sports will create a team, and bring to that team a professional structure and staff, to help their players to reach the top.One of those teams is "The Panthers" of Kibera
Kibera is the 2nd biggest slum in Africa continent, and because of that, sports are not a priority for the young people who live there. However, they don't lack talent. Even without any professional staff, the girls of Silver Spring Secondary School have been playing rugby and win over these years. The UCESCO Sports will help, bring a structure and series of things we think are essential for this team to be in 4/5 years Champion of Kenya or Africa.
Our players hv special needs because of the environment where they live. Because of that, we can't demand a girl from Africa's 2nd biggest slum in Africa to buy a pair of 10 USD boots, sports bra or even a clean t-shirt of practice. sometimes, they don't have anything to eat.Because of that, we are obligated to have in all practices and matches some snacks, clean water, female hygiene products and small stipends once in every month to support their families, to give them humble time.
The immediate goals are stealing the girls from Kibera to play Rugby. The time they spend playing and practicing, is the time they don't pass in the slum, is the time they don't pass watch all the problems and receive bad influences a slum brings.Our objective is to be the best Female Rugby Team of Nairobi and Kenya.Our Final goal is to be a Continental Team and play all over Africa Continent and show to Africa and the world the amazing talent the slums have, and so many times is underestimate
