Thank you for supporting children in Ukraine!
By Natalie Blinder | Founder
Dear friends, we are happy to share that this time, thanks to your donation, we provided help at the cost of UAH 110497 (USD 3777.04) for three specialised institutions for children with physical and developmental disabilities:
- BKC purchased a water filter system to ensure access to clean drinking water, as well as outdoor spotlights to illuminate the outside area for the Znamyanka orphanage, an institution that is home to more than 100 disabled children,
- We bought soft play blocks to help brighten the common area and playroom for children at the specialised educational institution located in Kmytiv, Zhytomyr Oblast,
- We also provided building, repair and renovation supplies for the Babans'ka specialised school, an educational, socio-psychological and rehabilitation complex for children with intellectual disabilities, at their request.
We strive to provide sustained support to all three institutions. As one of our supporters pointed out, 'I couldn't help but notice this feeling of hopelessness surrounding children in institutionalised care'. Poor living and studying conditions, the lack of proper nutrition - the list goes on. It is heartbreaking to see that children in care are treated as an afterthought due to underfinancing, which worsened as the war started.
We have been fortunate to be able to provide support to our children living in care, thanks to your help! We are very grateful for this utmost support!
Warm regards,

Thank you. Your support means the world to us!

Dear friends! We are excited to provide you with a report on how your donation helped children living in institutional care in Ukraine.
This time, we have provided help worth UAH 133624 (USD 4567.58) to 2 institutions.
- We supported a specialised educational institution located in Dovbysh, Zhytomyr Oblast. Seventy-seven children with physical and developmental disabilities reside and study there. We helped to equip a playroom with soft play blocks, which help develop socialising, teamwork and imagination, worth UAH 32800. Playing has a vital role in children's lives, contributing to their development. But for children in institutional care, deprivation in various forms is what they have known. For them, playing with these bright, colourful building blocks is a great - and required - experience! We also purchased for the institution maintenance and repair supplies such as paints, light bulbs, wallpaper and wallpaper glue at the cost of UAH 29647.
- We bought flashlights, two 30-litre thermoses, and three petrol cans worth UAH 41180 for an orphanage for disabled children in Kirovohrad Oblast. In Ukraine, there are nationwide power cuts and massive issues with heating, and such items are a must-have for the institution that cares for more than 130 children. We also provided diapers worth UAH 29997 for the children residing at the orphanage.
The lack of funds had always been an issue for Ukrainian orphanages; the situation became much worse due to the war. We support both these institutions on a regular basis as they heavily rely on charitable donations to provide proper care for the children. We are beyond thankful to you for choosing to help during this difficult time!

Your help made all the difference!

Dear friends,
We are delighted to share an update with you on how your donation has helped children in Ukraine.
Thanks to your incredible support, we have provided help worth UAH 170 148 (USD 5816.05) to 2 institutions:
- We purchased an interactive whiteboard, a projector worth UAH 42 220 and 32 school desks and chairs worth UAH 77 928 to equip classrooms in a specialised educational institution in Zhytomyr Oblast. Sixty-three children with physical and intellectual disabilities aged 7 to 17 reside and study there.
- Due to the underfinancing, children in institutions are falling short of meeting some nutritional needs, such as regularly eating a proper protein meal. We bought food worth UAH 50 000 - a four-month supply! - for twenty-seven children in one of the children’s centres in Chernivtsy.
Inadequate living and studying conditions, poor nutrition, and lack of necessities are often realities for children living in institutionalised care. In Ukraine, the war has made it much more difficult for them, and we are very grateful to you for choosing to step in and help! We are working on many more projects to provide help where needed most and will be happy to share our next update with you soon!
Thank you for standing with Ukraine!
Warm wishes,
