Hello Safi Life community!
We hope you are having a wonderful spring season.
Our NDASHOBOYE trade school program in Rwanda currently supports 54 girls and young women from Kigali. All of the girls that we support are different and have unique ambitions, but because all are mothers they not only take care of themselves but also their beloved children.
Today we decided to share with you some testimonials from Rwanda so you can see how major an impact it is that you are making:
"My name is Vanessa, and I am 15 years old. I have a baby girl of one year. It is not understood for girls of 14 years old to be pregnant. My parents were ashamed and I was rejected by my family and society. Now, I live with my sister. When I was pregnant I was hopeless and I thought that is the end of the world for me. My parents didn’t introduce about sexual education which I regret! In Safi Life I found Love and hope for the future!"
"My name is Sandrine. I am 17 years old and my child is now 5 months. My mother passed away when I was young (I don’t even remember her face), I have one brother and my father has a mental illness with it he passed away also. Now, I live with Saint Therese of Calcutta Sisters which took me from the hospital when I give birth because I didn’t have place to go since I was a house girl. I thank Safi Life because it gives me life!"
"My name is Valentine. I am 16 years old. I have a baby of 8 months. In my family I didn’t find love because my mother left us with father then go for another man. After father passed away I went in the street. One day when I was pregnant I slept in the street and Mother Therese of Calcutta sister come and took me, then they brought me to study in Safi Life! I couldn’t thank them enough for the such kindness!"
All of these girls are now learning a trade to support themselves financially and receiving consistent emotional support.
Thank you so much for your generosity. Any amount you can give to support our students will go a very long way!
