Alvin is a 9-year-old boy who needs hearing aids to hear. If they are not available, he will have to leave the education system without an opportunity to continue learning. His family doesn't have the resources to help him and his mom doesn't live with him, so he only depends on the care of a cancer-stricken grandmother in one of the most remote areas of the country (Volcan).
Alvin is a low-income, 10th grade kid. For over a year now he has been looking for ways to get hearing aids so that he can continue his studies. Despite the school adjustments it is not possible to continue and they have given him an ultimatum of getting hearing aids to avoid leaving the education system. Alvin lost his hearing due to frequent colds that caused him otitis.
The hearing aid will help Alvin continue to study and not lose what little hearing he has left. Alvin is a tender, loving child who is risks living in extreme poverty if he does not have his hearing aids on hand.
The foundation can take care of the follow-up and provide hearing tests but needs funding for hearing aids. Alvin's environment is becoming more difficult. He is isolating himself and gradually losing the opportunity to smile. Even with adversity, surprisingly his qualifications are amazing. For all this we want to give him a second chance. We are confident that with these hearing aids we can make it possible for you to be an educated man who can live a full life. Help us make it real.
