By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader
Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola developments remind us that the response is a marathon, not a single intervention.
The DRC continues to report thousands of confirmed cases and deaths, while international partners are strengthening surveillance, research, infection prevention, vaccination studies and community engagement.
ECDC has now deployed additional epidemiologists to the DRC, while researchers are working to determine whether existing Ebola vaccines can offer protection against the Bundibugyo strain.
At the same time, Uganda has successfully ended its own outbreak after 42 days without a new confirmed case.
Development Alert remains committed to the communities we serve.
Our contribution includes community education, hygiene promotion, early reporting, risk communication, preparedness, stigma reduction and support for stronger links between communities and health systems.
We are deeply grateful to every donor who makes this work possible.
Your generosity helps transform information into preparedness, preparedness into action, and action into stronger community protection.
