Dear Donor,
Contact tracing remains a major component of the Ebola response.
WHO reported that, as of 23 September, 32,342 identified contacts required follow-up, with 26,980 contacts successfully monitored during the previous 24 hours.
These figures demonstrate the enormous scale of work required to identify people who may have been exposed and monitor them appropriately.
Development Alert continues encouraging communities to cooperate with trained surveillance and contact-tracing teams.
We promote understanding of why health workers ask questions about movements, household contacts and possible exposure.
Cooperation becomes easier when communities receive respectful explanations and accurate information.
Contact tracing is not simply a technical exercise; it depends on people being willing to communicate openly.
Your support helps strengthen the community trust and awareness required for effective surveillance and follow-up.
