Dear Donor,
Community trust is essential when an Ebola response continues for an extended period.
With more than 8,200 confirmed cases and nearly 4,000 deaths reported in the DRC, communities have experienced significant disruption and loss.
Development Alert continues emphasizing respectful communication and accurate information.
People are more likely to report illness and cooperate with health workers when they understand why response measures are necessary and feel that they are being treated with dignity.
Our community engagement activities therefore focus not only on delivering information but also on reducing fear, misinformation and stigma.
Building trust takes time, consistency and honest communication.
Your support helps strengthen the relationships between communities and health-response teams that are essential during an emergency.
