Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are maintaining Ebola preparedness even after Uganda declared its 2026 outbreak over.
Uganda reported 20 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases during the outbreak and completed 42 days without a new confirmed case before the outbreak was declared over on 25 August.
However, the continuing outbreak in neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo means that vigilance remains important. Preparedness should not disappear simply because a country has completed an outbreak response.
Our work therefore continues to emphasize community awareness, hygiene promotion, early reporting, responsible information sharing, and cooperation with health authorities.
Maintaining these habits strengthens communities' ability to recognize and respond quickly if new alerts emerge.
Your support is helping Uganda preserve the lessons and preparedness built during the outbreak.
