Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are working to ensure that lessons from the current Ebola response contribute to stronger community preparedness in the future.
The outbreak has demonstrated the importance of early detection, trusted community communication, hygiene, contact monitoring, healthcare preparedness, rapid response, and cooperation across borders.
WHO's current response framework includes these interconnected areas, emphasizing that community engagement is central to bringing outbreaks under control.
Our goal is therefore not simply to respond to the immediate emergency, but to encourage knowledge and practices that communities can retain after the outbreak ends.
As of the latest ECDC reporting, DRC had recorded 8,224 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and 3,982 deaths, while Uganda had already completed its outbreak response.
Your support is helping turn today's response into stronger preparedness for tomorrow—building communities that are more informed, connected, and ready to act when health emergencies arise.
