Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are addressing one of the most important challenges in Ebola response: delays in recognizing and reporting illness.
When suspected cases are identified late, there may be more opportunities for transmission within households, communities, and healthcare settings.
Our community engagement efforts therefore encourage families to take concerning symptoms seriously and seek appropriate guidance promptly. We also promote cooperation with surveillance teams and discourage people from hiding illness because of fear or stigma.
WHO has identified delayed detection as a continuing challenge in the DRC outbreak, with delays contributing to transmission and preventable deaths.
Your contribution is helping communities understand that early action can protect an entire network of families and neighbors.
