Challenge

Ukrainian athletes face severe disruptions due to the ongoing war. With sports facilities destroyed, cities occupied, and widespread power outages, their ability to train and compete is severely compromised. The war's challenges also obstruct their pursuit of education, vital for their future.

Solution

The Belarusian Sport Solidarity Foundation in coopertaion with Ukrainian Athletics Federation launched the US Sports Scholarship project to support these athletes. This initiative provides support in obtaining a full scholarship at leading US universities. This allows 6 athletes to continue training while enjoying valuable educational opportunities. Funding is required to cover visa costs, tests, registration and first flight.

Long-Term Impact

This program enables Ukrainian athletes to pursue sports careers in safe conditions, including competing internationally under Ukrainian representation. Graduates from US universities will return with enhanced English proficiency, quality education, and global exposure. They will be pivotal in rebuilding Ukraine post-war, contributing to the sports sector, and initiating new projects.
