The Gender Dialogues on Climate and Sustainable Livelihoods Project aims to explore the intersection of gender, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods. Through a series of inclusive dialogues, the project plan is to bring together community members, policymakers, environmental experts, and gender advocates to discuss the unique impacts of climate change on women, men, and non-binary individuals, particularly in rural and marginalized communities.
The dialogues will highlight the disproportionate burden climate change places on women, who are often responsible for household food security, water collection, and agriculture. Participants will share experiences on how climate-related challenges—such as droughts, floods, and resource scarcity—affect their livelihoods and exacerbate gender inequalities. women’s traditional knowledge and roles in natural resource management are critical to climate resilience and adaptation.
Key recommendations for the dialogue include integrating gender considerations into climate policies, supporting women's leadership in climate actions, and promoting sustainable livelihood programs that empower women economically. The project will underscore the need for gender-responsive climate solutions to achieve both environmental sustainability and social equity.
