Every day we provide a morning snack and a balanced lunch for the 400 children living in one of the most violent and poor areas of Venezuela, 24 de Marzo, Petare, one of the largest slums in Caracas. The main goals of the Jenaro Aguirre Elorriaga School are providing education, daily nutrition and health care for its students. These programs are run by the "Fundacion Madre Maria Luisa Casar" in the interest of the schoolchildren and to contribute to a more integrated life in the community.
Due to the high inflation and great economic distortions in Venezuela, it is difficult to achieve our fundraising goals in the local currency (Venezuelan Bolivar) and also to find the necessary provisions in the local market. With your generous contribution, you can help in our endeavor to provide balanced meals to 400 children, as well as the school staff. For many of those children, that meal is the only one they receive daily.
This project is aimed at feeding 400 children in our school, some of them suffering from malnutrition. They are served a proper daily balanced meal at school during the lunch hour. Most of these children are between the ages of 3 and 14, and their access to our system and other benefits contributes to their present and future welfare, in the very dangerous streets of Petare.
The project guarantees that 400 underprivileged students from Jenaro Aguirre Elorriaga school, get at least one balanced daily meal and one snack, preventing malnutrition and ensuring that these children achieve personal growth and intellectual development. The foundation has been working towards this goal for 20 years, and has reached appropriate nutrition levels, which allow our students to enjoy the required level of development to pursue their educational goals.
