Our dear Andrés, a student in the Integrated Classroom, and about to join 5th grade in primary school, has hyperopia and astigmatism, which means he sees blurry and unfocused. However, thanks to generous people, we were able to provide him with glasses with the right prescription for him and now he will be able to see the blackboard clearly.

Our priority is to offer comprehensive care to all the children at Jenaro Aguirre. Therefore, we provide quality education, balanced nutrition, and preventive healthcare.

We understand that proper academic performance goes hand in hand with a healthy child, which is why we strive to take care of our children's health by offering regular dental check-ups and anthropometry sessions twice during the school year.

Through these sessions, we monitor the nutritional health of the children. Those children who show signs of malnutrition, either due to deficiency or excess, are treated and supplemented accordingly. We also monitor their iron levels to be aware of possible cases of anemia. Especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, when the school meal service was closed for almost a year, increasing the percentage of children with anemia.

Currently, according to data obtained in the session held in November 2023, 70.3% of children under five years old, and 62.5% between five and 12 years old have appropriate height and weight for their age. The rest of the children are being attended to by our medical staff to improve their nutritional health.

In dental check-ups, we monitor oral health and reinforce hygiene habits to maintain a healthy smile.

To complement the healthcare services for our children, last February, we had the opportunity to go further by conducting screenings for myopia for all the school children, thanks to a great ally.

We know that a nearsighted child may have difficulty seeing the instructions written on the blackboard clearly, and in general, visual problems can lead to delays in the learning process, making reading and writing challenging.

Nuestro querido Andrés, alumno de Aula Integrada, y próximo a incorporarse en 5to grado de primaria, tiene hipermetropía y astigmatismo, es decir, ve borroso y desenfocado, pero, gracias a personas generosas logramos entregarle sus lentes con la fórmula adecuada para él y ahora podrá ver con claridad la pizarra.

Nuestra prioridad es ofrecer atención integral a todos los niños del Jenaro Aguirre. Por ello, brindamos educación de calidad, alimentación balanceada y salud preventiva.

Entendemos que un adecuado rendimiento escolar va de la mano de un niño sano, es por ello, que procuramos cuidar la salud de nuestros niños ofreciendo consultas odontológicas regulares y jornadas de antropometría dos veces durante el año escolar.

A través de estas jornadas monitoreamos la salud nutricional de los niños. Aquellos niños que presenten algún cuadro de malnutrición, bien sea por déficit o por exceso, son atendidos y suplementados según sea el caso. También vigilamos sus niveles de hierro, para estar atentos a posibles casos de anemia. Sobre todo, después de la pandemia del Covid-19, cuando se cerró el servicio de comedor escolar por casi un año, lo que incrementó el porcentaje de niños con anemia.

Actualmente, según datos obtenidos en la jornada realizada en noviembre 2023, 70,3% de los niños menores de cinco años, y 62,5% entre cinco y 12 años presentan adecuada talla y peso para su edad. El resto de los niños están siendo atendidos por nuestro personal médico para mejorar su salud nutricional.

En las consultas odontológicas vigilamos la salud bucal y se refuerzan hábitos de higiene para tener una dentadura sana.

Para complementar los servicios de salud en nuestros niños, el pasado mes de febrero, tuvimos la oportunidad de ir más allá, realizando despistajes de miopía a todos los niños de la escuela, gracias a un gran aliado. Sabemos que a un niño miope se le puede dificultar ver claramente las instrucciones escritas en la pizarra, y en general, los problemas visuales pueden generar retraso en el proceso de aprendizaje, dificultando la lecto-escritura.
