This is a day of fun and family enjoyment to help breakup the stressors of life in and out of the military. Veterans suffering from some form of disability have a harder time connecting with family. Injury's from a deployment last forever and so do the memories made with a parent. This music and comedy festival will help veterans reconnect with their children and spouse. Rides, Face Painting, Balloon Animals, comedy and music, this is how you through a party for a Veteran and their kids.
With over 500,000 service members deployed and separated from their spouse and children means hundreds of thousands of children don't know one or more of their parents because of deploying. This puts a tremendous strain on the relationship between a child and parent. Searching for ways to help them reconnect presents several challenges, A comedy and music festival is a great way to relax and allow the connection to foster naturally and under fantastic circumstances.
Setting a neutral environment for the child and Veteran to connect allows the child to relax and just be a kid. This event will help those children build memorable and lasting memory's of being with the estranged parent.
This is the first in what we plan on being an annual event that will travel from Military base to base, because that's where the Veterans are. Bringing this event to bases helps the children connect with other children of Veterans and enables them to form their own support network to deal with the changing mood and disposition of the Veteran and the uncertainty of deployments.
