Our Women & Kids Spaces at the Victoria Community Center continue to be a beacon of hope and support for refugee women and children. Since opening in June 2022, we have welcomed 30-50 women and children daily, with over 2,700 individuals currently registered.
Recently, we increased our diaper distribution from 120 to 200 families and introduced wet wipes, responding directly to the needs of the women we support. Our distributions of sanitary pads, condoms, and newborn baby packages continue to be essential for the well-being and dignity of the women and children we serve.
Thanks to new collaborations we are now able to offer weekly acupuncture sessions. This offers a much-needed alternative approach to managing pain and trauma, providing relief and comfort.
Our tailor project has also seen remarkable growth, creating opportunities for women to earn income and gain independence through sewing, an initiative that has been warmly received by both the community and potential buyers.
The impact of our work is perhaps best exemplified by our recent Refugee Week celebration, which was a joyous occasion attended by 150 people. The day was filled with laughter and connection through activities like karaoke, photo booths, and children’s games. This event highlighted the resilience and strength of our community, bringing a sense of normalcy and joy to lives often marked by hardship.
We are deeply grateful for the trust and engagement we have built with the women and children we serve. Your continued support makes all this possible, and we thank you for your generosity and commitment
