# Safe Space for Women Survivors of Violence
KOSHISH provides a short-term safe space for women survivors of violence in Nepal who require immediate protection, care, and support. The safe space offers women a secure and supportive environment away from situations of violence, enabling them to address their immediate needs while beginning their journey toward recovery and healing.
Through this project, KOSHISH aims to support 100 women survivors of violence. Each month, approximately 20–25 women receive assistance through the safe space. The women are provided with essential basic needs, including safe accommodation, nutritious food, clothing, hygiene materials, and other necessary items to support their health, safety, and wellbeing during their stay.
Alongside practical assistance, KOSHISH provides trauma-informed care that recognizes the emotional and psychological impact of violence. Support is offered in a respectful, confidential, and non-judgmental manner, ensuring that each woman’s experiences, choices, privacy, and dignity are respected. The approach enables women to feel heard and supported while regaining a sense of safety and control over their lives.
The safe space also gives survivors an opportunity to receive emotional support and information about available services. Based on their individual circumstances and needs, women may be connected with appropriate health, psychosocial, legal, protection, or other support services. This helps them make informed decisions about their safety, recovery, and future.
For women experiencing violence, access to a safe space can be the first step toward rebuilding their lives. By providing immediate protection, basic necessities, and trauma-informed care, KOSHISH supports survivors during a critical period and helps them move from crisis toward safety, dignity, healing, and hope.
With continued support from GlobalGiving donors, KOSHISH will be able to reach more women survivors of violence and ensure that they have access to a safe environment and the essential care they need. Through this project, donors are contributing directly to the protection, recovery, and wellbeing of women affected by violence in Nepal.
