To the generous donors of our GlobalGiving Art Exploration Campaign,
Since our last update, The Virgin Islands Children’s Museum has hosted engaging arts activities as part of our Toddler Tuesday program, as well as Storytime and Crafts sessions to celebrate Grade-Level Reading Week. In collaboration with several organizations on St. Thomas, we organized a special event focused on promoting early childhood literacy and fostering a love for reading and getting creative with stories. This event was made possible through the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR), a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring the academic success of children from low-income families.
On Tuesday, July 30th, the Disability Rights Center for the Virgin Islands (DRCVI), the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI), the US Virgin Islands Public Library System, and the VICM came together to host a Day of Storytime with Mrs. Roberts. This event welcomed children of all ages and included a short Parenting Workshop for parents. The schedule for the day included storytime sessions for different age groups, along with opportunities to learn about early-childhood literacy programs and sign up for the DARRI's Book Club.
Thanks to the generous support of the Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands, the VICM offered FREE admission on July 30th, allowing visitors to enjoy the day's activities and interactive exhibits. We are grateful to organizations like CFVI for their donation of books, which were distributed during the Grade-Level Reading event and for your generous support of our GlobalGiving campaign which allowed us to provide art supplies for crafting activities throughout the day. The VICM remains committed to providing a space where families can engage in interactive learning experiences that inspire a love of learning.
As part of our ongoing Art Exploration GlobalGiving Campaign #49363, we continue to support and present arts and humanities initiatives that enrich the educational experiences of our visitors. Your generous donations have played a crucial role in making these programs possible, and we are truly grateful for your continued support.
Thank you for your dedication to our mission and for your ongoing commitment to the Virgin Islands Children's Museum. Your contributions make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
Sincerely,
The VICM Team
