The Vocational Training for 400 Youth in Sokoto project, implemented by Elite Star Foundation, is designed to equip vulnerable young people with practical skills in tailoring, welding, solar technology, modern farming and fashion, while providing business startup support to help beneficiaries become self-reliant. The project has a total funding goal of $10,000, and as of the latest GlobalGiving project update, $0 has been raised from 0 donors, leaving the full $10,000 balance outstanding.
Due to the absence of project funding so far, full implementation of the planned six-month training programme has not yet commenced. The organization remains committed to mobilizing the required funds to begin beneficiary selection, vocational training, provision of tools and machines, and financial literacy mentorship. Once funding is secured, the project will support 400 youth with practical skills and startup resources intended to enable them to establish small businesses and generate sustainable income. The project ultimately aims to benefit not only the direct participants but also more than 2,000 family dependents through improved household income and economic stability.
