This project empowers 400 vulnerable youth in Sokoto, Nigeria, with vocational skills and startup capital to escape poverty. We provide intensive training in tailoring, welding, and solar tech, followed by the tools needed to launch independent businesses. By turning idle youth into skilled entrepreneurs, we create a path to self-reliance and economic stability for the entire region. Your support builds a future where young people are job creators, not job seekers.
Sokoto State faces a severe unemployment crisis, with thousands of youth lacking the skills or capital to earn a living. This idleness leaves them vulnerable to extreme poverty, crime, and radicalization. Without intervention, a generation remains trapped in dependency. These young people are eager to work but are locked out of the economy due to a lack of vocational training and access to tools. We must act now to prevent a lost generation.
We will bridge the gap between potential and income. Our 6-month program will train 400 beneficiaries in high-demand trades like modern farming, solar installation, and fashion. Uniquely, we provide a "Business Startup Kit" (machines, tools) and financial literacy mentorship upon graduation. We move beyond theory to ensure every student has the physical assets and knowledge to start earning on Day 1. We don't just teach them how to fish; we give them the rod.
We are not just training individuals; we are revitalizing a community. These 400 new businesses will generate income that supports over 2,000 family dependents, breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. By turning at-risk youth into economic pillars, we reduce social unrest and foster long-term stability. This creates a permanent ecosystem of skilled labor and job creation in Sokoto that will last for decades.
