This project is providing vocational training skills (tailoring & crafts) to school dropout girls , and single mothers in northern Uganda, to empower them to start small businesses and create a better life for their families and to be financially independent , This project will support 100 at risk girls and 100 child mothers this year.
The insurgency caused by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army crippled development in northern Uganda, Lira district is involved which is the center of lango sub region, leaving the sub region with poverty-stricken leading to poor education, high rate of HIV infection, high rate of child marriage, high school drop-out rate, New Generation for Change works to solve these problems.
The project will offer free tailoring and crafts making training to 100 school dropout/at risk girls and 100 child mothers, vocational training will strengthen school dropouts to be financially independent and self reliant for sustainability,,
500 women and 500 school dropout girls will have been trained and supported for the next next 5 years ie 100 by each yearfor each target group. This will increase income and sustainability the community.
