WE APPRECIATE YOU!
We wish you a wonderful new year in 2022 from all the staff at Volmoed Retreat Centre!
They are hugely grateful for all the support. Through your giving, we have been able to support staff in need of emergency medical funds and other family emergencies.
As Covid-19 and now the omicron variant continues to play havoc with the ability of groups of people to come to our retreat centre, our income is still inadequate, and we sadly continue to pay our staff at 60% of their salaries.
They are loyal, stalwart, faithful, cheerful, and grateful for all the other ways we find to support them, like finding extra day jobs when we are able and the emergency medical fund.
Sadly, our weekly donation from a local supermarket of bread for their families, ended in December, and it is not clear if it will begin again in 2022, but we remain hopeful. It has been a support to our staff and their families.
Through your donations, we were able to provide a Christmas lunch and an outing to the ocean nearby, which the staff thoroughly enjoyed.
It is our strong hope that this year we will be able to get the staff back to full salaries. With your help we will!
