We are pleased to share a positive progress update on works at the CSB (Health Centre) in Manambaro, made possible through your generous support. Construction activities are now nearing completion, and the improvements are already strengthening the clinic’s capacity to deliver safe and dignified healthcare services to the local community.
The new staff accommodation is structurally complete. The building has been fully constructed, with the roof installed and all walls and floors rendered to completion. This facility will provide much needed secure housing for health staff, improving staff retention and availability at the clinic. Final works remain ongoing, including internal paintwork, installation of the indoor ceiling, tiling of the shower area, and connection to the Tatirano water system. Once completed, the accommodation will significantly enhance living conditions for clinic staff.
Repairs to the clinic’s latrines are also progressing well. For the first latrine block, the roof installation is underway, the structure has been reinforced, and new doors are being fitted. The second latrine block requires less extensive work and will be addressed next, with planned replacement of doors and repainting. These upgrades will improve sanitation, privacy, and overall hygiene standards for patients, staff, and visitors.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, SEED continues to prioritise Water Sanitation and Hygiene education and capacity strengthening. Weekly WASH education sessions are being delivered to patients, their families, and members of the wider community, reinforcing good hygiene practices. In addition, the Ministry of Health has conducted WASH training for all CSB staff, culminating in the development of a WASH action plan to guide ongoing improvements at the clinic.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment. Your generosity is directly contributing to safer healthcare facilities and healthier outcomes for the Manambaro community.
