Schools were closed in Kenya in March 2020. They are to re-open from 1st September 2020 gradually. COVID-19 is not leaving us now but we need to learn how to live with it. Therefore, as schools re-open, they will lack running water and soap to keep children safe especially those in rural Kenya. Therefore, we ask well wishers to support this initiative to have WASH facilities in rural schools in Kenya before they re-open. This will keep the school children safe and training on preventing COVID-19
Most schools in rural Kenya do not have access to clean running water. The schools closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and will be re-opening on 1st September 2020. The schools are yet to have clean running water and soap to safeguard the school children.
The project, WASH for schools, is to provide running clean water to rural schools in Kenya so that when they re-open, they have sufficient WASH Facilities in the fight for COVID-19.
WASH for school will enhance education and re-opening of schools. Hygiene lessons and reproductive health cannot be achieved in rural schools without WASH facilities. There is need to provide each rural school with WASH Facilities to fight COVID-19, training on hygiene and reproductive health.
