According to the Government Action Program, in 2016, more than 5 million Beninese, almost 50% of the population, did not have access to clean water. The disparities with respect to access are especially important. In rural areas, children, due to lack of clean drinking water, continue to be disproportionately affected by water-borne diseases, such as diarrhea and choleraFurthermore, the United Nations DP revealed that the absence of a clean water supply leads families to designate girls
According to the government's Programme of Action, in 2016, more than 50% of benin's population did not have access to safe drinking water. In rural areas, girls travel miles every day to fetch water from the river. This situation has serious consequences for the health and schooling of girls, who are unfortunately deprived of their right to an adequate education.
With your help, our plan is to install a water tower that uses a solar-powered pump at the Dourbe school, thus equipping the school with sustainable and quality access to drinking water with: A productive drilling rig, equipped with a submersible pump powered by solar energy A garden irrigation system All the drying and delivery equipment of the water tower A concrete water tower An online water chlorination device to ensure water quality A field of polysilicon photovoltaic panels for energy
Children would have a permanent, clean source of water that is useful for growth and health Children are less likely to have water-borne diseases, such as cholera and diarrhoea, due to the consumption of dirty water Children would learn to plant and look after a garden, Washing your hands would practice good hygiene that is still inaccessible to millions of children around the world. Girls would be allowed to stay in school and would not be responsible for the water supply.
